Un proyecto que fue un sueño logrado hace quince años atrás, en el mes de diciembre volvió a levantarse en Sweetwater, FL.
Sweetwater Pro Wrestling nace en el corazón de Jorge Alonso, quien desde muy pequeño, como todos nosotros, veía la Lucha Libre y soñaba con hacer algo dentro de este rudo deporte. Luego del éxito que tuvo su regreso en la ciudad de Miami el pasado 9 de diciembre, Sweetwater Pro Wrestling promete un 2018 lleno de mucha acción, contando con leyendas y nuevas caras, tanto latinas como estadounidénses, chocando entre sí.
Ahora que Alonso se prepara para presentar el evento Extreme Justice en el mes de marzo, y que tendrá de invitado a el ex-ECW, The Sandman, el promotor le brindó un tiempo especial a Contralona para contestar aquellas preguntas que lo dan a conocer:
Contralona: ¿Cuándo decidiste entrar en el negocio de la lucha libre profesional y por qué?
Alonso: "En realidad, siempre estaba de alguna manera u otra involucrado con el negocio. Cuando tenía 19 o 20 años, dirigía una organización sin fines de lucro donde hacíamos shows para caridad. Fui entrenado por Rusty Brooks, y luego me lesioné un par de años más tarde. Después de eso, comencé a hacer podcasts y entrevistas a luchadores de todo el mundo. Luego, la comisionada de la ciudad, Cecilia Holtz Alonso, decidió traer de vuelta la lucha libre profesional a la ciudad de Sweetwater, y aquí estamos. No pude resistirme a trabajar en esto.
En cuanto a por qué, siempre he sido un apasionado de este negocio, desde que tenía 6 años, viendo a Hulk Hogan y Macho Man, y con esa pasión logré realizar muchos sueños ".
Contralona: ¿Por qué Sweetwater Pro Wrestling y no otra cosa?
Alonso: "Sweetwater Pro Wrestling está haciendo algo diferente, algo único al no usar los nombres que ves constantemente, cada semana, en otros programas. Estamos usando caras nuevas, nuevos estilos, nombres y no nombres que Miami nunca haya visto antes, y algo que siempre atrae es la atracción de lo desconocido. Eso es lo que vamos a ofrecer, un estilo híbrido de lucha libre profesional, caras nuevas, nuevos combates y meet and greets a precios accesibles".
Luchadores puertorriqueños también forman parte de SPW.
Contralona: ¿Por qué crees que SPW es la alternativa que Miami necesita?
Alonso: "Creo que la cantidad de fanáticos que ves en los shows se está acabando porque es lo mismo en todos los shows. Sin ofender a nadie, pero piénsalo. Si pagué tanto dinero en la semana n. ° 1 para ver a tal y tal, ¿por qué gastaría lo mismo para verlo en la semana n. ° 2? Así que en SPW les damos algo diferente en cada show, con historias interesantes que te harán llorar, reír, animar y abuchear".
Contralona: Muchos nombres importantes han sido y serán parte de SPW. ¿Crees que es bueno tener tanto leyendas como nuevos talentos trabajando juntos?
Alonso: "Hay muchos nombres o leyendas en su camino a SPW, nombres de México como Hijo de Dos Caras, Bestia 666, Taurus, y ex-estrellas de TNA como Abyss, Cody Deaner y más. Creo que es una gran ventaja tener estos nombres, y funcionan juntos porque ayudan a la generación más joven a aprender de estos hombres y mujeres, y para ser honesto, es una receta para el éxito, la vieja escuela se encuentra con la nueva escuela, en lo que muchos consideran coincidencias de ensueño".

Contralona: ¿Qué es lo próximo para SPW en 2018?
Alonso: "Eso es lo que ocurre con SPW. Nunca sabrás lo que sucederá. Siempre hay sorpresas que te harán ir a la próxima. Te diré esto, ven a nuestro próximo espectáculo Extreme Justice el 24 de marzo en el Centro Revo Entertainment en Doral, FL. Nunca querrás perderte un show de SPW. ¡Así que alégrate y disfruta el viaje!"

Sweetwater Pro Wrestling set to bring a lot of action to Miami in 2018
A project that was a dream achieved fifteen years ago, rose again back in December in Sweetwater, FL.
Sweetwater Pro Wrestling was born in the heart of Jorge Alonso, who from a very young age, like all of us, watched pro wrestling and dreamed of doing something in this rough sport.
After the success of his return to the city of Miami on December 9, Sweetwater Pro Wrestling promises a 2018 full of action, with legends and new faces, both Latinos and Americans, colliding with each other.
Now that Alonso is preparing to present the Extreme Justice event in March, and will have former ECW The Sandman as guest, the promoter chat with Contralona and answered those questions that make him be known:
Contralona: When did you decided to enter into the pro wrestling business and why?
Alonso: "In reality, I was always somehow or in someway involved with the business. When I was 19 or 20 years old, I ran a non-profit organization where we did shows for charity. I was trained by Rusty Brooks, and then got injured couple years later. After that, I started podcasting and interviewing wrestlers around the world. Then the city commissioner, Cecilia Holtz Alonso, decided to bring back pro wrestling to the city of Sweetwater, and here we are. I couldn't resist jumping on board.
As to why, I've always been passionate for this business since I was 6 years old, watching Hulk Hogan and Macho Man, and with that passion I got to achieve many dreams."
Contralona: Why Sweetwater Pro Wrestling and not anything else?
Alonso: "Sweetwater Pro Wrestling is doing something different, something unique by not using the names you constantly see every week on every other show. We are using new faces, new styles, name or no names that Miami has never seen before, and something that always attracts is the attraction of the unknown. That's what we're going to provide, a hybrid style of pro wrestling, new faces, new matches, and meet & greets at affordable prices."
Contralona: Why do you think SPW is the alternative that Miami needs?
Alonso: "I think the amount of fans you see at the shows is dying down 'cause it's the same thing every show. No offense to anyone, but think about it. If i paid so much money on week #1 to see so and so, why would i spend the same to see it on week #2? So we at SPW give them something different every show, with engaging stories that will make you cry, laugh, cheer, and boo."
Contralona: So many big names have been and will be part of SPW. Is it good to have both legends and new talents working together?
Alonso: "There are many names or legends on their way to SPW like names from Mexico such as Hijo de Dos Caras, Bestia 666, Taurus, to former TNA stars such as Abyss, Cody Deaner, and more. I believe it's a huge plus to have these names work together 'cause it helps the younger generation to learn from these men and women, and to be honest, it's a receipe for success, old school meets new school, in what a lot would even consider dream matches."
Contralona: What's next for SPW in 2018?
Alonso: "That's the thing with SPW. You'll never know what will happen. Always surprises that'll make you come to our next one.
