RAW: Edge to return at Royal Rumble; Orton RKOs Alexa Bliss; Goldberg and McIntyre face to face

This Sunday begins the road to WrestleMania at the Royal Rumble and the most important and prized WWE Championship will be at stakes in a historic match that could change the course of WWE forever. WWE Champion Drew McIntyre will defend against legend and member of the WWE Hall of Fame Goldberg. A dream match for many professional wrestling fans.

It should be noted that every time Goldberg has returned to the WWE to challenge for a championship, he has been successful in achieving the task in hand. In 2017 he beat Kevin Owens to win the Universal Championship and in 2020 he won the same championship by defeating The Fiend at the Super Showdown event. Goldberg has obviously been successful in everything he has done since his triumphant and unexpected return to WWE in 2016.

On the other hand, Drew McIntyre is literally on fire. Since winning the WWE Championship from Brock Lesnar during last year’s WrestleMania, McIntyre has earned the respect of the WWE Universe and has also competed in countless battles where he has had to prove that he has all the fighting ability to represent the WWE as their champion. Victories against Randy Orton, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins and the current Universal Champion Roman Reigns have positioned McIntyre as a dominant force in the WWE.

Drew McIntyre against Goldberg this Sunday at the Royal Rumble will be an exciting match where both warriors will compete for the most prestigious prize in the WWE. Will Goldberg continue his hot championship streak and shock the WWE Universe? Or is this the match that catapults Drew McIntyre to the next level on route to WrestleMania?

After 7 months out of action due to a injury on one of his shoulders, The Rated R Superstar Edge announced that he will return and will be part of the Royal Rumble match this Sunday searching that championship opportunity at WrestleMania. Edge is not stranger to this kind of match and even won it back in 2010.

This week marks one year since his surprise return at the Royal Rumble, which left the WWE Universe shocked and speechless. Is this Edge's year? Can Edge beat 30 other Superstars and punch his ticket to WrestleMania?

In the main event, Alexa Bliss was about to crown herself as the new Raw Women’s Champion but Randy Orton had other plans. In what was a rare and unpredictable match where we saw several of Bliss personalities, Asuka had to defend her championship against wind and tide. After appearing to have been possessed by The Fiend, Alexa was going to apply Sister Abigail to the Champion but to Bliss's surprise, Randy Orton was behind her and attacked her with the three most dangerous words in WWE, RKO.

Randy Orton continues to challenge the devil to his face and play with fire, and the marks on his face tell the story. This Sunday, 30 superstars will enter the ring in search of the opportunity of their lives at the Royal Rumble. Anything can happen, and when it's Orton's turn to get in the ring, he better take care of his back, you never know who's watching you and trying to take you out.

Stay tuned to Contralona this Sunday to find out what happened at the Royal Rumble event.
